Meet the people behind the program.

Joy D. Wilson, Founder

Joy Wilson is an avid nature lover who combines her love of nature and early childhood education together to create the Joy Nature School program. She has a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in early childhood and a Masters Degree in Special Education. She is passionate about the power of nature to help teach children and transform them into confident and curious learners. She is a proponent of the free-play philosophy and has worked with children for many years. When she is not teaching she loves to go on bike rides with her family and has raised four wild children of her own. 

Evelyn Wilson, Assistant Teacher

Evelyn is assistant teacher at Joy Nature School. She is a junior studying Business and Psychology at the University of Kansas. When she isn't teaching she enjoys spending time hiking, kayaking and swimming. She loves to travel and her favorite food is anything with chocolate.
